Chest Piece Finished
::some shit you might not care about::
Referencing early philosopher's interpretations of the Trinity and knowledge of the path of the Sun, they divided the life of all living things into three parts: Growth, Maturity, and Decay. The phase of maturity being midday, the point where the Sun is highest in the sky and most radiant(powerful). ((rising, midday, and setting))
..further
THE LION OF THE SUN.
From Maurice’s Indian Antiquities.
the sun rising over the back of the lion or, astrologically, in the back of the lion, has always been considered symbolic of power and rulership..
Witness the lion of the Great mogul and the eagles of Cæsar and Napoleon.

My piece:
The last name "Parker," adopted in 2002 from my then step-father. Above the Sun & Lion

And the artist who made it happen..Jon B.
check him out www.realmtattoos.com

...next to be completed: My Invictus piece and then starting on what I have planned for my back.

Outside of the Box
The first concept was patented in 1884.
Commercial use began during the 1920's.
And present day is now a keen tool in human development and social influence.
(television)
My generation no longer experiences life in the same manner in which previous generations have. We no longer think outside of the box. Whether it be a television, a computer monitor, a cellphone, or now a PC tablet, human beings no longer "think outside of the box."
We now rely on our electronic devices as our source for information, entertainment, social interactions, and companionship. I remember once upon a time it was the knee scrapping and skin peeling experiences that helped you find other individuals who'd you call your friend. Now its "suggested" to you through social medias such as Facebook, and is as easy as sending a "friend request" online.
Electronic Mail,Instant Messaging, Video Chat, Streaming Feeds, Online Banking, Online Shopping, Internet Pornography, Online Gaming, News Portals, Online Forums, Social Networking Sites, and an App for just about anything you can think of.
People walk down the street with one eye to their path and the other glued to their mobile device.
----------------
This month as well as for Lent, I gave up the usual alcohol, pork, and masturbation. And included in that, sweets, fast-food, and soda. But fuck the little shit..next month im giving up my beloved "Idiot Box!"(Great Mama's term for TV)
..ironically below is video of how television now molds our society.
..and another video offering a look "outside of the box" of a culture not dependent upon electronics.

Mental Discipline
"John Reuchlin said of Pythagoras that he taught nothing to his disciples before the discipline of silence, silence being the first rudiment of contemplation."(Secret Teachings of All Ages)
..........
Not being ready to commit to a vow of silence I borrowed the idea from a friend and mentor to give up certain indulgences each month. For the remaining months of this year I plan to abstain from certain activities as a test of will. This month I'm starting light..
No Alcohol
No Pork
No Masturbation
As the months progress I plan to abstain from more demanding tasks..
March is steadily approaching, what are your ideas on things that I should refrain from?

The F Words
Maybe it's because..
..I don't want to disappoint my parents?
..I don't want to let down my peers?
..I feel obligated to everyone who has invested so much into me?
Or possibly, it's that..
..I'm aware of my potential and scared of not living up to it?
..I'm afraid to Fall?
I'm afraid to Fail!
No matter the route of reason, it has prevented me from ever trying. It has prevented me from taking anything seriously and giving it my all. I' have yet to dive into anything head first, for Fear of hitting the bottom before ever having the opportunity to open my eyes.
It's funny because I'm quick to inspire others and push them to accomplish their goals. I'll assist in anyway I can to see them fulfill their dreams, but I never assist or inspire myself. I suppose witnessing others successfully accomplish their goals is in a way, satisfying. But that is no longer enough.
I recently read a tweet that said, "Millions of people can believe in you, and yet none of it matters if you don't believe in yourself." That's some real shit, considering that there is always someone in my corner telling me that "they believe in me." And although that is very reassuring, it hasn't changed much of anything.
So maybe its not the Fear.
Maybe its Frustration. Frustration because I don't know really what I want, or even so how to get there.
People are always saying things like,
"You never know until you try"
"The only failure in life, is the failure to try."
(or my favorite) "Try and fail, but don't fail to try" - Stephen Kaggwa
..Cool Quotes -_-
But now that I'm nearing the end of this post, I'm starting to think something else.
Fuck Fear
Fuck Frustration
Fuck Failing
I've always known what I need to do ..
I'm just going to DO IT!
